Destination: MGM Grand – Springfield, MA
Not everyone wants the resort casino slot machine experience all the time. Sometime a player just wants to spend a few hours testing their luck in hopes of the big payout, or, just a few smaller payouts!
The MGM Grand casino in Springfield MA provides a good venue for those players who just want to have fun. Here you can soak up the atmosphere of a spacious casino with lots of newer electronic slot machines to choose from. All the slot machines are located on one floor which makes navigation easy, even if using a walker or wheelchair.
We wanted to visit the MGM Grand in the later hours – after 10 pm, to check on what a visitor would find if just making a casual stop. and, it was a good experience. Usually 10 pm is a prime time for resort casino visitors with most venues being quite crowded. At this casino there was a good crowd, but not overwhelming. They claim more than 1500 slot machines on the property, so getting onto one was no problem. And, they featured the newer games like Dragon Link, Buffalo Gold and of course all types of Wheel of Fortune games.
On the down side, most of the restaurants were closed. We hadn’t eaten because we were on the road so our food choices were limited. The High Limit Room – usually our favorite – had a limited number of slot machines, with some out of commission for a changeover. And, while the Valet service was not in operation, there were plenty of available parking spots in their 4-level self park garage.
We definitely give the MGM Grand Springfield MA a grade of B+ for the slot machine players who want a quick stop to try their luck.
BONUS: only about 20 minute drive from Bradley Field International Airport in case you have a long layover!!
